Our intention is to make the types releases easy to understand and we aim to do so by using the following version structure...
[edit] Version 1.x.x
Where the first digit changes it signifies major changes in the forum software. This means that most files are likely to have changed. Skins from previous versions are highly likely to be incompatible with this release. An example version might include an overhaul of the code, or the addition of new several features.
[edit] Version x.1.x
Where the second digit changes it signifies minor changes in the forum software. This means that several files may have changed. Skins from previous versions may work though in parts may requires some adjusting to be compatible. An example version might include the addition of a couple features and refining of existing feature.

Where the third digit changes it signifies a release primarily for fixing bugs found in the previous release. Skins from previous versions should work though may require minor adjustments to fix bugs. An example version would include bug fixes and possibly some refinement of existing features to make them more efficient.
